The Oil and Gas (O&G) industry perform a fundamental key role in Brazil's energy matrix, with the National Innovation System (SNI) being responsible for boosting investments in Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I). The O&G sector has been largely impacted by government policies throughout its evolution in the country. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to investigate, through the elaboration of a systematic review, which regulatory frameworks are interconnected to the SNI in the O&G sector. The methodology employed encompasses the construction of a theoretical basis based on related studies, as well as the identification of the main incentive mechanisms and regulatory frameworks that relate to the SNI in the sector. The analysis of the results obtained allowed the categorization and chronological ordering of the most significant regulatory frameworks and the identified promotion mechanisms. This research plays a valuable starting role for subsequent research, as by charting regulatory frameworks and incentives over time, it provides a solid starting point for future studies that will further explore this complex relationship and its impacts.
