The Case of Sindipetro-NF

This paper aims to analyze the trade union movement in Brazil seeking to identify elements of its possible weakening, especially after the 2017 labor reform. Using Sindipetro-NF as a case study, the study analyzes union media and collective bargaining agreements. A strong mobilization of Sindipetro-NF was observed during the period of voting on the labor reform, through acts expressing its disagreement with the new laws, informing the working class of the losses that these could cause to working conditions. After the reform, we followed the news and acts in the union media signaling the non-conformity with the current situation, and in addition, we observed through the collective agreements that the mobilization of Sindipetro-NF is fundamental for the region, as support to the working class in guaranteeing its rights, through collective agreements, in addition to keeping it informed by the union media about the monitoring of the
